Bringing hope to a young generation

Some Commonly Asked Questions ...
Why do we need School Chappies?
School chappies provide a non-judgemental support to not only students in their school, but also to teachers, admin, leaders and the parent community. A holistic approach is helpful to provide all-round wellbeing. This preventative inclusive support means there's always a listening ear and helpful conversations going on.
HOW DO THEY PROVIDE SUPPORT?
This can look like a variety of approaches. Sometimes Chappies run programs such as Rock and Water, A2B, Chillax, Rage, Brave, Girls with Purpose and others. These programs aim to increase students' self-awareness and resilience skills, around topics as anxiety, anger management, bullying prevention and friendship building.

Other times, Chappies are available for a one on one conversation with personal struggles the student/adult may be having such as family breakdown, self-harm, homelessness to name a few.
WHAT ABOUT THE RELIGION ASPECT?
Chappies are a neutral support person which means they aren't able to evangelise or proselytise to others. In others words, they are only able to have a spiritual conversation with consent from the parents/guardian. These types of discussions are invitation only by the person enquiring. We believe everyone has the right to their own beliefs, and we aren't in the business of bible bashing.
HOW DOES A SCHOOL GET A CHAPLAIN?
Each school has the option of having a chaplain or not. If they are interested, the Principal is invited to make contact with either the Local Chaplaincy Committee Chairperson or the SU representative for their area. For more enquiries, please follow up on this website's contact form.
